An $82 million apartment complex is nearing completion in North Buffalo. The Pan-American Square Apartments have been in development since 2022. The apartment complex, which consists of three buildings at 2633 Delaware Avenue includes 150 apartments. 80 units are for adults with mental illnesses, 20 are designated for the homeless, with the other 50 being affordable housing options for people making up to $42,000 a year. Developer DePaul tells Business First 500 people have applied for those 50 open units.
32 area nonprofits are getting a share of $630,000 in grants from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. The top awards are going to Buffalo Prep, which is receiving $38,000, and the WNY Women's Foundation, which is getting $36,000. Other notable recipients include the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Buffalo Urban League, GObike Buffalo and the Roycroft Campus.
