New Era Cap Company announced a $300,000 donation to assist families of the victims of Saturday's mass shooting at Tops. A release taking note in particular of victim Celestine Chaney, who was a former associate of the company and member of the New Era family in the 1990's.
Developer Douglas Jemal pledging to donate at least $100,000 to help support the 10 families of the victims. At the same time, Jemal challenging other local businesses to join in his financial support.
No let up in gas prices. The AAA reports that the cost for a gallon of unleaded in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area rose another four cents yesterday, to a new record high of $4.67.
According to Business First, Street Light Brasserie is setting up shop in leased space at 5 East Huron Street. The all-day café/kitchen will have one menu all day, seven days a week from breakfast until late night. The restaurant plans an opening for mid- to late summer.
