New farmers market coming to Buffalo's East Side

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo's East Side is getting a new farmer's market that will run every Saturday from 9am-1pm through September 26th at MLK Park, except for Juneteenth and the 4th of July. Local nonprofit Rooted in Love is sponsoring the market, which will include produce from Truly Rooted, along with local vendors, artisans and small businesses. The market opens this Saturday.

Soccer fans will have to wait a little while longer to see a team hit the pitch in Buffalo, as Buffalo Pro Soccer President Peter Marlette Jr. announced Tuesday the team will not begin play in the USL in 2027. Marlette says the team has built momentum and established an ownership group, with a principal owner to be announced. Marlette adds the team is in advanced talks regarding a future stadium site. A town hall for team supporters will be held next Tuesday evening, June 9th from 6-7:30.


Five Star Bank has earned the Gold Award from the Small Business Administration's Buffalo District Office. The award is based on loan volume, number of loans and economic impact during the SBA's fiscal year. For 2025, Five Star approved 83 7(a) small business loans equating to $11.7 million.
