The party's over for Party City in Amherst. The location off Maple Road is one of 12 to have its lease auctioned off by parent company Party City Holdco Inc., according to Business First. No lease action, for now, being taken at the other local Party City locations in Buffalo, Williamsville, Cheektowaga, Blasdell and Niagara Falls.
A local investment group reportedly has purchased a pair of properties in East Buffalo. Business First reports 300-320 Scaj LLC paid more than $2 million in separate transactions for 300 and 320 Scajaquada Street buildings and land. A member of the group not commenting on plans for those tracts of land.
Niagara County Community College has been awarded nearly $39,000 from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services to aid in the stabilization of the child care sector. The College is using the grant to expand the John R. Oishei Childhood Development Center on the Sanborn Campus.
