Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Paula's Donuts is serving up a special "Burger Donut" throughout the month of June through a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Buffalo. The donut's bun is made from a glazed donut. Sandwiched in-between is a chocolate donut (acting as the beef) and colored frosting that mimics condiments. A portion of the money from every Burger Donut sale benefits the charity.

Two long-time employees of Allied Mechanical are set to take ownership of the company from founder Michael Modrzynski. Alexander Schwaeber and James Cendrowski will take control of the company over the next four years. Allied Mechanical was founded in 1984 and focuses on HVAC design, installation and service for new and existing buildings.

Buffalo's Margaret L. Wendt Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to The Salvation Army's Hope on Main project. The money will be used toward construction of a new, three-story, 80-bed Emergency Family Shelter at 954 Main Street in Buffalo that's scheduled for an August or September opening.
