The Aquarium of Niagara has selected Turner Construction Company as the project manager for its $5 million expansion project. The Aquarium will renovate the vacant Niagara Gorge Discovery Center; turning it into a living museum featuring the notable wildlife of the Niagara River and larger Great Lakes ecosystem.
The estate of the late Mark Croce has sold the former Buffalo Proper restaurant on Franklin Street. Business First reports Jakku Properties LLC, of Williamsville bought the property for $600,000.
In other restaurant news from Business First, owner James Roberts has announced he'll close Compass Run. Roberts plans to put his sole focus on his downtown eatery Toutant. The current plan for the 500 Seneca site is to make it a turnkey operation for another hopeful restaurateur.
Technology services and cybersecurity company Avalon has promoted Chief Operating Officer Jon Bates to CEO.
