Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) -William Savino of Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP has been appointed as the receiver for the Walden Galleria amid foreclosure proceedings, per Business First. Mall owner Pyramid Management Group asked the court to stop the appointment of a receiver, saying it could derail efforts to find new funding to pay off its out-standing $220 million loan. There's multiple possible outcomes to the foreclosure process, including the sale of the mall or the lender taking over the mall, refinancing, or the two sides reach an agreement.
A dedication and blessing ceremony was held today for Kenmore Mercy's recently upgraded Medical Rehabilitation Unit. The Scott Bieler Family Foundation was honored for their contributions toward the project, which includes improvements to the unit's gym, staff break room, equipment and the creation of a new Independent Living Area.
Still no WARN notice filed by General Mills with New York State as the company plans a $130 million corporate restructuring. The company says $70 million of that amount will be from "severance expenses", which is corporate-speak for layoffs.
