Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Outdoor retailer REI Co-op is opening at 1701 Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst next spring. The 25,300 sq. ft. store will have a full-service bike shop as well as seasonal ski and snowboard shops. The Amherst location will be REI's seventh in New York and is one of six opening across the US next year. About 35-45 people are expected to be hired.
Buffalo is getting its first Wingstop franchise. According to Buffalo Business First, the national chain's first local restaurant will be at 2310 Delaware Ave. at Hertel. There's currently 63 Wingstops operating in New York.
Gas prices in Buffalo have fallen one cent over the past week, coming in at $3.33 per gallon. The national average is down 2 cents at $3.18.
