Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Sabres have hired Jake Vernon to be the team's chief commercial officer. Vernon comes over from the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves and WNBA's Minnesota Lynx where he spent the last 12 seasons working in sales and ticketing. While in Minnesota, Venron oversaw two renovation projects at the Target Center in Minneapolis. It was just last year the Sabres made two renovations to their arena, adding a new scoreboard and roof.
FeedMore WNY has launched its Spring Into Action Food Drive as it deals with significant cuts of federal dollars and the loss of almost 2 million pounds of food. Donations can be made from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-noon on Saturdays at FeedMore's warehouse at 91 Holt St. in Buffalo.
