Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Douglas Development has postponed a $150 million renovation of the Statler that will add 200 hotel rooms and 500 apartments to the historic building. The delay comes amid a search for funding. According to Buffalo Business First, Douglas Development had committed to having the rooms available for conventions, including the NCAA basketball tournament in 2026. Pat Kaler from Visit Buffalo Niagara told Business First the situation is "very concerning."
A new tenant is moving into the former TGI Fridays downtown as Zamzam Indian Cuisine plans to open this summer. The restaurant will offer traditional Indian entrees along with a buffet. According to Buffalo Business First, the space will undergo a $300,000 renovation that includes an outdoor patio.
Vets & Pets is back this week at the SPCA Serving Erie County! Adoption fees are waived for the immediate families of all active and retired military personnel. The event goes through this Saturday the 31st.
