The Open Enrollment Period for Medicare begins October 15th and runs until December 7th. Two of the region's HMO's putting out word about the services they offer. For 2021, Independent Health will continue to offer a variety of Medicare Advantage plans designed to meet members' specific needs. This includes Independent Health's Encompass 65® Element HMO Plan, which will have a $0 monthly premium. Monthly premiums for the rest of their HMO and PPO plans will remain unchanged. BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York has a broad suite of Medicare Advantage options for 2021, including $0 premium plans, available to the more than 300,000 Medicare-eligible consumers in Western New York.

The 14th Annual Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards have been announced. In the small business category, the winner was R.I.C. Plumbing, Inc. The mid-size business winner was Niagara Label Co. The recipient in the large business category this year was Reid Petroleum/Crosby's. The annual awards highlight the importance of ethical behavior by celebrating companies that consistently demonstrate ethical conduct in everything they do - particularly during these challenging times for business.
