Tonawanda auto parts plant to lay off 36

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - DKP Buffalo, a Tonawanda based aluminum and steel blanking provider for the auto industry will lay off 36 of its 85 employees between April 30th and May 31st, per Buffalo Business First. The workers are represented by UAW Local 55 which is based in Williamsville.

Tom Mahoney has been named Chair of this year's Taste of Buffalo after 10 years of managing the festival's logistics. The Taste also announced that restaurants, food trucks and wineries have until next Monday, Feb. 12th to register for the festival.


The price of gas has dropped 3 cents in Buffalo since last week, averaging $3.33 per gallon. The average cost of gas continues to climb across the country however, up 4 cents since last week at $3.15.
