Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo History Museum will display a 19th century masterwork for the first time in a decade beginning Friday morning at 10. The exhibit for The Trial of Red Jacket, a 9-by-6 foot oil painting by John Mix Stanley will be displayed on the Museum's upper level. The painting depicts Seneca orator Red Jacket as he defends himself against charges of witchcraft.
The Graycliff Conservancy Board of Directors is donating 370 objects to be housed in the University Archives at UB. Objects donated include original materials owned by Buffalo business man Darwin Martin. Martin was the original owner of Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House Complex.
Mental Health Advocates of WNY will pack "Mental Health Tool Kits" Friday from 10a.m. to noon ahead of the first anniversary of last year's Christmas Blizzard. The kits are meant to provide isolated individuals with resources for the winter. The packs will be distributed at multiple community centers in Buffalo.
