Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A state supreme court justice has approved a new property manager and leasing broker for the Galleria Mall. A court order also requires Pyramid Management Group to hand over management and leasing brokerage services to Spinoso Real Estate Group by July 30th. In an email to Business First Pyramid said "Our focus remains on working towards a positive outcome with our lenders and finalizing new, long-term financing to support the continued strength, vibrancy and long-term success of Walden Galleria."
Dipson Theatres at the McKinley Mall is closing. An attorney for the theatre told Channel 4 that employees "have essentially gone on strike" over "abysmal working conditions" brought on by a lack of air conditioning. Dipson filed a $4.1 million lawsuit over the faulty HVAC system in February. There's also an ongoing dispute between the mall and Dipson over $102,000 in unpaid rent.
Kerns Avenue Bowling Center reopens Saturday at 3 p.m. in Buffalo. The Black-owned business is the first in Western New York to receive a Vacant Rental Program grant from the state. The grant helps business owners make small, vacant properties usable again.
