Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Walmart has made significant strides in Buffalo over the last 10 years. According to Buffalo Business First, the retail giant's local market share jumped 4% between 2014 and 2024. Wegmans is still ahead of the pack in the local grocery scene, taking up 30% of the market share, followed by Tops which controls 21%.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new Hearts for the Homeless Thrift Store will be held this Friday morning at 11 a.m. at 3531 Seneca St. in West Seneca. Hearts for the Homeless is a nonprofit organization aiming to clothe and feed the homeless and those living in poverty.


Gas fell two cents over the last week in Buffalo, averaging $3.10 per gallon. The cost across New York State also dropped two cents at $3.15.
