WNY Women's Foundation launches mentorship program

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The WNY Women's Foundation has launched a new mentorship program called Ready, Set, Lead! - an initiative that aims to address the gender gap in workplace leadership by facilitating career, personal and community development for women and gender minorities in the first five years of their careers. Those interested in joining the program may reach out the Foundation for financial assistance if needed.

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Buffalo Bills Foundation are awarding fifteen AEDs to community organizations today, including Say Yes Buffalo, Compass House and FeedMore WNY. Officials from both organizations will gather at Frank E. Merriweather, Jr. Library. Free AED and Hands-Only CPR lessons will also be available. The event takes place from 3p.m. to 6:30p.m.


Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens will open their "Creatures After Dark" exhibit tomorrow evening from 6p.m.-9p.m. The exhibit will be open for ten days in October.
