BUFFALO (WBEN) - As New Year's Eve celebrations are taking place virtually for obvious reasons, the organizers of First Night Buffalo have come up with a unique way to bring the party directly to your home.

"We've really wanted to keep the tradition alive and not let the community down," said Carrie Meyer, who serves as the executive director of the Independent Health Foundation, as well as an organizer for First Night Buffalo.

"What we're trying to do is package everything that you would typically see and do at First Night in downtown Buffalo at the Convention Center, that you can do safely in your home with your children and your family," she said.

They are selling party packs, which can be found at certain Tops locations for $20, that include activities to do with children to celebrate the new year, including party hats, glow stick necklaces, noisemakers, face paint, a balloon pump and and balloons to make animals, and also a disco light bulb that can be placed into any light or lamp in the house to turn an entire room into a dance party.

If you don't have a box, you can log on to firstnightbuffalo.org to view a linear run of their entertainment. It's about an hour-and-a-half long, and organizers brought together a lot of local fan favorites and entertainers.
