Oshei Children's Hospital passes 90% completion

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The new Oshei Children's Hospital has surpassed the 90 percent completion mark. With the interior construction nearly complete, Kaleida says the new hospital is on track to open in Novemmber of this year.

Ground was broken on the hospital in October 2014 and now all operating rooms, intensive care units and surgical units are complete.  "Now that the interior is nearly complete, it is exciting to see the countless hours of time and effort poured into creating a one-of-a-kind, child-friendly space finally take shape", saod Allegra Jaros, President of Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo.  "We are just a few short months away from opening the doors", Jaros continued.

The hospital helipad will be complete in July and in August it's expected all construction trailers and fencing will be removed.

Jaros says the project is on budget and adds that a portion of a new parking garage that will serve the hospital and surrounding medical facilities will be ready for the hospital opening and the entire parking facility will be ready in the Spring of 2018.
