Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Andrew Lloyd Weber's The Phantom of the Opera is celebrating its 30th year on Broadway. It opened at Shea's Buffalo Theatre this week for an 12-day run.
The story of the masked man who haunts the Paris Opera House, serenading its star, is an iconic Broadway show. It lives on through generations, being introduced to new audiences all the time.
Mitchell Hodge, Stage Manager of the National touring company in Buffalo, says this show is so different from the original. "It's like night and day. The original was great but this is a totally new experience".
120 stage crew were working on the production while we were invited for a preview.
