GRAND ISLAND (WBEN) – The Erie County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 33-year-old Timothy Knight, Jr. of Grand Island for threatening a Black victim over several weeks.
The Sheriff's Office responded to a complaint by the victim who was receiving threatening communication from Knight. The communication then elevated to physical threats with racial overtones.
After an investigation and consultation with the District Attorney's office, Knight was arrested on April 12. The defendant is charged with a felony count of 2nd-degree hate crime/aggravated harassment.
Knight was processed and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
