An early morning crash kept part of the eastbound I-290 closed for almost 8 hours Tuesday. The crash was first reported around 3:30 a.m. It happened near Colvin Blvd.
WBEN has learned 47 year old John Serrano of North Tonawanda was on his motorcycle when it went off the pavement of the 290 east and he was thrown into the middle lane. Police say several cars struck him while lying on the road. Serrano died at the scene.
Accident investigators were working at the scene for hours. The 290 reopened to traffic at 11:15am.
