Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A 4-year-old child was injured by gunfire Sunday afternoon in the 1900 block of Bailey Avenue.
The child was transported to Golisano Children's Hospital and is expected to have surgery on Monday. The injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
Buffalo Police detectives executed a search warrant at the child’s residence. Erie County Child Protective Services has been notified and is actively involved in the situation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
