West Seneca, N.Y. (WBEN) - It was a rough start to the school year in West Seneca, as 405 students were deemed "unaccounted for" after the district neglected to assign the students a bus route.
Parent Heather Proudman, speaking with WGRZ-TV, Channel 2 says the experience was terrifying, as she did not know where her kids, who are in 4th and 5th grade, were.
The following statement was sent to families on Thursday afternoon:
Parents received a robocall from the district telling them to pick their children up from school if they were not assigned a bus.
The mistake affected 7% of the district's students.
