East Aurora, NY (WBEN) Raise a glass to freedom.
42 North is introducing a new beer to benefit humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. The beer also honors a colleague who has returned to Ukraine and will brew Resolve there.
John Cimperman launched the Resolve initiative, as it hits the brewery home. "Naz Drabot is actually back in Ukraine, and showing the resistance and the resolve of a lot of the residents in Ukraine," says Cimperman. Cimperman says he launched an international campaign for breweries across the globe to brew a beer to honor Ukraine and help that nation. "15 here in our country, and 15 breweries over in Europe, have decided to join the initiative and brew this beer, and the dollars that are raised the proceeds from this beer are going back to the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine," adds Cimperman.
Cimperman says Drabot was with 42 North six months before it opened. He says Drabot helped contribute to some of the recipes still used. Cimperman says he's been in touch with Drabot. "He is back in Kyiv. He is safe, but he's also in a traumatic state with the events that are happening in Ukraine," says Cimperman.

Cimperman says Drabot is aware of the campaign. "He is truly humbled by the initiative. And he's extremely grateful by the initiative. He personally is going to begin brewing the beer this week at his brewery in Ukraine," adds Cimperman.
How does the beer taste? He says it's a European lager that's light and approachable. "We brewed that beer, one so that it would appeal to every palate," explains Cimperman. he adds with spring approaching, an approachable beer would be best.
The brew is available at 42 North Taproom as well as Resurgence, Thin Man Brewery and Britesmith Brewing locally.
