6-year-old girl struck, killed by vehicle in Town of Tonawanda

Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - A 6-year-old girl was struck and killed while crossing the street Monday evening in the Town of Tonawanda.

Police say the girl, identified as Carmella Lopez, was struck by a Ford Transit Connect Van on Canterbury Lane and taken to Kenmore Mercy, where she was declared deceased.


The driver of the van was identified as 84-year-old Charles Voit of the Town of Tonawanda. Police add he is cooperating with the investigation.
