Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WBEN) - Imagine sipping a beer or a glass of wine while catching a 360-degree, panoramic view of Niagara Falls, and the view will be 133 feet in the air.
Come Memorial Day weekend in 2027, Michael DiCienzo's TCB Entertainment will be opening the Aerobar by Aerophile that's part of the Hard Rock Cafe location on Third Street.
The slightly more than $4 million project will see 16 people at a time elevated some 133 feet in the air, where they will get a 360-view of Niagara Falls, Niagara Falls State Park, the Niagara River and Canadian skyline. The ride will last just under one hour.
All riders will sit in a specially-designed round table.
DiCienzo said Aerobar is designed to be family friendly.
"It would further enhance the visitor experience an encourage long stays in Niagara Falls, N.Y.," TCB Entertainment of USA said in its application to the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency.
The NCIDA directors approved a $500,000 Cataract Fund loan for the project.
The loan won't kick in until the Aerobar becomes operational, said Mak Gabriele, NCIDA counsel.
"They have to be operational," Gabriele said.
TCB, in its appplication, said the Aerobar will help generate new jobs and increase tourism spending in Niagara Falls.
DiCienzo has significant tourism-related investments in both Niagara Falls, N.Y. and Niagara Falls, Canada.
