BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN).....Move over Shark Girl.
You are getting, a new downtown competitor when it comes a photographic attraction.
In this case, it is 110-foot tall version of Buffalo Bills' star quarterback Josh Allen.
Just like in 2024, a 10-story Josh Allen ad for Gatorade is coming to the northern side of the Statler and will overlook Niagara Square.
And, just like two years ago, the giant 110-foot tall by 120-foot wide Gatorade ad will be a major attraction where Buffalo Bills' fan - many donning Allen's number 17 jersey - will line up to have their photo taken with the giant ad behind them,
"Niagara Square and the Statler is the right place for that," said Pete Burakowski, Buffalo Place Inc. executive director.
Two falls ago, the giant ad went up and fans began to immediately flock to Niagara Square.
Burakowski thinks history will repeat itself.
"It is the type of thing that people use to show their pride in being from Buffalo and being a Bills' fan," Burakowski said.
Fans, if 2024 is a good example, will come from not only the immediate Buffalo Niagara region but it will be a draw for out-of-towners, especially if they are headed to a Bills, or even a Buffalo Sabres' game.
The ad should be in place within the next few weeks - or perhaps sooner and will remain up through-out the regular National Football League season.
"Things like are fun and special and do help bring people downtown," Burakowski said.
