An 18-year-old from Buffalo was sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case for his role in the violence that occurred outside the high school to an indeterminate term of incarceration between 1-3 years at the Erie County Youth Service Center. He was adjudicated as a youthful offender, despite opposition by prosecutors.

It was on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 at approximately 3:45 p.m., the adolescent offender, along with other unknown individuals, was involved in the assault of Jeter outside the school. That was where Jeter was beaten and stabbed multiple times during the altercation.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where he was hospitalized with serious physical injuries from 10 stab wounds to multiple parts of his body.

The teen, who was 17-years-old at the time of the crime, pleaded guilty as an accomplice to the crime, facing one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Assault in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felonies) back on Jan. 4, 2023.

Flynn says an 18-year-old male from Buffalo pleaded guilty Friday before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and one count of Assault in the Second Degree).

At approximately 3:45 p.m. EST on that Wednesday, the teen intentionally shot Walker, who ran toward a crowd in an attempt to break up the brawl that broke out in the parking lot of McKinley High School. The teen intentionally fired multiple rounds from an illegal weapon during the incident.

Walker was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound to his left leg.

The teen, who was 17-years-old at the time of the crime, continues to be remanded to the custody of the Erie County Youth Services Center. Although he is eligible for youthful offender status in this instance, Judge Case has already committed to a minimum sentence of five years for the defendant in prison, and will not grant him youthful offender status.
