Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) - An Alaskan-based investment with ties to the Sugpiaq Native American tribe has acquired a Cheektowaga property anchored by an IHOP location.
Chenega Restaurant Properties LLC - an affiliate of the Anchorage-based Chenega Corp. - paid $2.3 million for the 4,000-square-foot IHOP location at 50 Thruway Plaza. The site is a Thruway Plaza outparcel.
IHOP remains as the building's sole tenant. The national chain has been at the site for more than 20 years.
The deal is the latest where Chenega Restaurant Properties has been buying IHOP-anchored properties across New York state.
The firm has acquired IHOP-anchored buildings in the Rochester suburb of Irondequoit and Albany suburbs of Colonie and Clifton Park.
Chenega Corp. was originally founded in Prince William Sound, Alaska by the Sugpiaq nation in 1974. It later moved its headquarters to Anchorage.
