Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - An early 20th Century house on one of Amherst's more traditional and upscale streets is the latest private residence in Erie County to sell for more than $1 million.
In the latest deal:
The six-bedroom, nearly 5,800-square- foot house at 357 LeBrun Road sold for $1.155 million, according to filings in the Erie County Clerk's office. The house was built in 1919.
The deal marks the 62nd private residence in Erie County to sell for north of the key $1 million-plus sales mark.
Amherst has seven of those $1 million-plus transactions.
With a $1 million-plus home sale being recorded in the clerk's data base once every 3.4 days, Erie County is on a pace to a see a record 107 private residences sell for more than $1 million this year.
Last year, Erie County set a record with 105 homes going for more than $1 million.
The sale of houses going for more than $1 million is considered a key economic benchmark within the region's residential real estate industry.
