(WBEN) - Thursday night's Presidential Debate gave voters one last look at both President Trump and Joe Biden before the election, which takes place in less than two weeks.
"There was a very clear winner last night," said Ted Lina, who moderates the yearly debates at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute. "The American citizens were the winner."
"Debates aren't supposed to be entertainment," Lina said. "They're supposed to be informational. There's no doubt in my mind that across this country at work and schools, people are going to have a lot to say not about the conduct, but about the questions and how the candidates responded."
The debate was certainly more civil that the first debate between the two candidates, but some who watched still found it a far cry from the norm.
"It was a far cry from the first debate, that's to be sure," said Jacob Neiheisel, Political Science Professor at the University at Buffalo. "Still less civil than what we've come to expect over the last couple of decades of Presidential debates. I still remember people being up in arms about Al Gore sighing in 2000. It reflects our underlying politics."
