Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - An investigation is underway into an alleged armed robbery inside a Cansius College residence hall Monday afternoon.
Canisuis Public Safety was made aware of the icident in Dugan Residence Hall at approximately 3:30 Monday afternoon. The suspect was armed with what appeared to be a gun and the victim is described as a member of the 'campus community, according to a release.
A scuffle ensued and the victim was struck with the weapon and their injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
Dugan Residence Hall was placed on lock down, while Canisius College Public Safety officers, assisted by Buffalo Police, conducted a search of the premise for signs of a suspect. Students and staff inside Dugan Hall were instructed to shelter in place. No one was permitted to enter or leave the building.
At approximately 5:10 p.m., the shelter in place was lifted. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
