Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Police say they've caught up to the person they believe was responsible tor stealing $200 from a donation jar inside Gene McCarthy's in South Buffalo.
Police say 35-year-old Steven Palistrant of Buffalo broke into the bar on Dec. 2, taking the jar for donations intended to buy gifts for the Old First Ward Community Center Children's Christmas Party.
Palistrant is charged with burglary, criminal mischief and petit larceny.
Gene McCarthy's staff say donations refilled the coffers and then some in time for the party.
