Niagara Falls, NY (WBEN) A Town of Niagara man has been arrested, charged with the murder of a man in Niagara Falls. Police say Gilbert Cruz was nabbed after a vehicular pursuit.
Police say the investigation began when the family of the 56-year-old victim from Cheektowaga learned that he did not show up for his shift at work. The victim's family checked multiple locations, including the hotel where he sometimes stayed related to his shift work. A check of his room by hotel staff lead to the discovery of his body.
A police investigation determined the victim died of a homicide. Cruz was taken into custody following the pursuit along the Niagara Scenic Parkway.
Cruz is due back in court Monday. He's being held in the Niagara County Jail.
