Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Town of Tonawanda Police say the man involved in a bar stabbing Sunday night has turned himself in. Zachary Meer is accused of stabbing another man at a Colvin Boulevard bar.
Police say around 11:40 p.m. ET there was a confrontation at GFY Bar and Grill on Colvin Blvd, leading to a stabbing. A 29-year-old man was stabbed in the chest.
The victim sustained a non-fatal injury and was treated at the scene by Town of Tonawanda paramedics. He was subsequently transported to ECMC for advanced medical care.
29-year-old Zachary Meer of the Town of Tonawanda, surrendered himself to the Town of Tonawanda Justice Court Monday morning. Meer was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Cavarello on charges of Attempted Assault in the First Degree; a Class C Felony and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree; a Class A misdemeanor.
Meer was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to return to the Town of Tonawanda Justice Court on July 10, 2023 at 9 a.m. ET for further proceedings.
