Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - An arrest has been made in the double homicide of two men well known in the LGBTQ+ community in Buffalo's Allentown neighborhood.
34-year-old Bryan Monge Chiclana has been charged in the double homicide of Michael "Mickey" Harmon and Jordan Celotto. Chiclana is currently facing one count of Murder in First Degree, as well as two counts of Murder in the Second Degree.
Prosecutors say the suspect did not know the victims.
"Chiclana entered unlawfully through a basement window, and struck the victims with a blunt object," said Erie County District Attorney Michael Keane on Friday.
Keane adds the suspect had been trying to enter several homes earlier that day.
Buffalo police say two lieutenants encountered Chiclana, who began cutting himself before dropping the knife and complying with directions given by the lieutenants.
Chiclana was taken to Erie County Medical Center by AMR under police supervision, where he remained under supervision while receiving treatment.
Mayor Chris Scanlon confirms Chiclana is the same suspect that was who was sent to ECMC for treatment. The injuries Chiclana sustained are believed to be self-inflicted.
