North Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Incumbent Democrat Austin Tylec won a second term as Mayor of North Tonawanda, defeating Republican challenger and former North Tonawanda Police Chief Tom Krantz.
Tylec says his first four years in office have brought significant progress and economic growth to the city. He pointed to downtown revitalization efforts and major private investments as key drivers of North Tonawanda's continued development.
Krantz, who ran a grassroots campaign that included extensive door-to-door outreach, says many residents expressed frustration with rising taxes. Despite his loss, he emphasized the importance of fiscal accountability and pledged to remain active in supporting the community.
