WBEN's Linda Pellegrino posted a photo of a line early Friday morning that wrapped around the Wegmans store in Depew as far back as the beer aisle.
There were lines outside other Buffalo area Wegmans locations.
This year's collection features quarterback Josh Allen, tight end Dawson Knox, pass rusher Von Miller, and a Bills "Super Fan".
At training camp on Thursday, Knox said he was super excited to be part of the collection.
"To be in the color rush uniform and have the headband and everything, I think it's hilarious," said Knox. "I'm definitely gonna have Von and Josh sign one for me and keep it as a little memorabilia deal." "I'm definitely going to need a few boxes for myself to give away as gifts. I've already had a few requests."
The collector sets went on sale Friday morning at Wegmans stores in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse locations.
They sell for $24.99.
$10 of each purchase is donated to Oishei Children's Hospital.
"It's a significant deal for Oishei," said Kaleida Health Chief Dev Offiicer Andrew Bennett. "If you look at the previous two runs, two million dollars was raised, which makes a tremendous difference in what we're able to do throughout the hospital."
Bennett said the money raised is a game changer for updating equipment, and supporting families that can't pay for their care.
"Oishei is about a $300 million operation each year, which is a big number," noted Bennett. "Because of support in the community, we're able to continue to evolve and grow and advance that care. The dollars raised through this effort have a very real and tangible impact."
Despite long lines Friday morning, there appeared to be plenty of supply.
Bennett said roughly 100,000 collectible sets were produced.
Something different this year is that the sets are exclusively sold at Wegmans. There is not an online component. It is in-store only.
