Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - For a fifth-straight season, the Buffalo Bills manage to come away victorious over their AFC rival Kansas City Chiefs in the regular season, earning a 28-21 win on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
With the win, the Bills improve to 6-2 on the 2025 season and continue to keep pace in the AFC East with the New England Patriots. The win also bumped the Chiefs down to 5-4 in the standings, and puts them currently on the outside of the playoff picture looking in.
While the Bills have still yet to prove themselves against the Chiefs in the postseason, going 0-4 since 2020, members of "Bills Mafia" will always take a win over Kansas City.
"I think any win's a good win," said Bills fan Danny from Rochester. "I don't really think of it as regular season [vs. playoffs]. I just think any win is a good win for the Bills. So I'm happy with a regular season win, and I hope that leads to a postseason win."
"It was so encouraging," added Bills fan Joe from Iowa City, Iowa. "I think if you would have asked me a month ago if the Bills and the Chiefs were playing, what our chances were, I felt really, really good about it. But then the Chiefs sort of ascended, and the Bills had those two losses. I'm just thrilled that we were able to get the win."
For some fans, they are hoping that a win like this can translate into success come the postseason, especially if these two teams square off for an 11th time in six seasons.
"We need to learn how to close it out for those playoff games, and we did that tonight. Hopefully we build upon that, and we'll meet them again, I'm certain. I'm looking forward to the same outcome," Joe said with WBEN.
A number of fans were impressed by the Bills' performance on both sides of the football on Sunday, especially after the team struggled to put together some consistency in their game through the first six weeks of the year.
"The Bills defense, they were amazing. The Bills defense stepped up today," said Bills fan Chris with WBEN. "The interception in the fourth quarter sealed the deal when the Chiefs were coming back, making a run in the fourth quarter, the Bills defense stepped up today, complimented the offense. Unbelievable."
Seeing the Bills finally find their game on both sides of the ball after the Week 7 bye week is a nice shot of confidence into the team after the early-season struggles.
"When you get people to get on the same page and they're going the same direction, it's unbelievable to watch. It's fun," said Bills fan Kyle from Louisville, Ky.
"We know Josh Allen's great, but the defense stepping up and matching that is what makes this team fun to watch, and something that we can see all the way through the playoffs," added Bills fan Brian with WBEN.
As the Bills get ready to head to Miami next Sunday to face the Dolphins, fans are eager to see how much further the Bills can build on these past two wins heading into the final stretch of the season.
"I feel a lot better about going and playing at Miami than having the Chiefs here, and we saw what we did today, I feel good about next week," Brian said.
"Honestly, I feel super confident. I think the Bills are the best team in the NFL," Danny added. "I think that they're going to 'Squish the Fish' next week, and honestly, this is a year I truly believe that the NFL is just a little bit down in general. I don't think there's necessarily a front runner, so I think the Bills going to get it done going forward."
