Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Just before 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, City of Buffalo officials were seen evacuating City Hall and flocking into Niagara Square across the street.
LISTEN LIVE TO WBEN:
According to Buffalo Fire Commissioner William Renaldo, the evacuation of City Hall was over an elevator motor that was overheating on the 20th floor. Some people said they could even see smoke coming from one of the top floors of the building.
It was shortly after the evacuation where fire officials were able to get the situation under control. Employees and others have since been allowed to re-enter the building.
