Buffalo firefighters deal with apartment blaze

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo firefighters responded to a midday fire at 10 7th Street, a seven-story, high rise apartment complex in the City of Buffalo.

The fire originated in an apartment on the seventh floor, and it extended to the roof. Damage is estimated at $800,000 to the building and $250,000 to its contents.

Two members of the Buffalo Fire Department are currently being evaluated for an injury. The nature of their injuries are unknown at this time.

The Red Cross is on site to provide assistance to displaced residents, and further information on their efforts will be provided as it becomes available.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
