Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Thick smoke billowed through Buffalo’s Midtown Main Street neighborhood Thursday morning as workers repairing a roof on a former city police station briefly had tar catch on fire.
The fire was reported at 1444 Main Street in a building that’s nestled between the proposed $50 million Diamond Lofts project.Buffalo Fire Divisiin Chief Daniel Bossi said there was minimal damage to the building.
“Yes, there was a lot of smoke because of the tar but not much damage,” Bossi said.
Work on the building resumed Thursday morning.
