BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN)......A historic Black Rock rail freight house that was converted into upscale apartments has landed a new owner.

Orchard Park-based investors Lotho Minor LLC - named after a "Star Wars" galaxy - paid $5.8 million for the Black Rock Freight House apartments, buying it from Buffalo Freight House LLC.

Constructed in 1901 by New York Central Railroad as both a station and freight house, the building at 68 Tonawanda Street in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood, the building sat vacant for a number of years before developer/architect Karl Frizlen and attorney Jason Yots bought the complex in 2017 and spent the next three years renovating it into a residential-anchored property with 35 apartments and some retail/office space.

The building was one of five freight houses New York Central had in Buffalo and is the last one still standing.

The new owners will continue to operate the building as an apartment complex.
