Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A 39-year-old Buffalo man pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon before State Supreme Court Justice William Boller to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree (Class "B" violent felony).
It was on Sept. 20, 2019 at approximately 8:50 p.m. ET when first responders went to an apartment on Grote Street in the City of Buffalo after receiving a report of an infant who was not breathing. The baby was taken by ambulance to Oishei Children's Hospital.
The victim, six-month-old King Jordan, died at the hospital two days later.
The Erie County Medical Examiner's Office determined the child died from blunt force trauma to his head and neck.
An investigation found that Reginald Jordan, the father of the victim, caused the fatal injuries by intentionally shaking the infant.
Jordan faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday, April 21 at 9:30 a.m. ET. He continues to be held without bail.
