Wales, N.Y. (WBEN) - A 50-year-old Buffalo man has been charged with one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals after an investigation found he attacked a 10-week-old husky puppy.
Donald Powless turned himself into police Thursday in connection to the attack, which happened on Jan. 19.
The complainant told police that Powless assaulted the dog at her home on Hunters Creek Road in Wales after the dog nipped at Powless' nose. Powless then lifted and slammed the dog to the floor, breaking the puppy's leg and requiring surgery.
Powless was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Wales Town Court at a later date.
