
Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo man has been convicted in a deadly shooting that took place two years ago in the city's Willert Park neighborhood.
Jurors have found 42-year-old Ernest Brown guilty on Friday of murder and weapons possession for the incident that took place on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at approximately 3 a.m.
That night saw Buffalo police officers respond to a reported shooting on Genesee Street near Mortimer Street. Three people were found shot outside of a tavern, with two of the victims - a 33-year-old male and 44-year-old male - being taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
The third victim, 31-year-old Devin Lockwood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brown faces a maximum of 25 years-to-life in prison when he is sentenced before Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes on Monday, Sept. 29 at 9:30 a.m. He remains held without bail.
A co-defendant, 26-year-old Twandrell Dean of Buffalo, previously entered a guilty plea to manslaughter and weapons possession for his role in the homicide on Nov. 12, 2024.
Dean faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced before Judge Maxwell Barnes on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. He remains held without bail.
