Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo man is charged with killing a woman and wounding a man after opening fire in a Buffalo apartment in January. Victor Cramer-Williams faces up to 25 years-to-life in prison if convicted.
Back on Jan. 25, prosecutors say Cramer-Williams fired at a 47-year-old man inside an apartment on Auburn Avenue. 37-year-old Erica Ralston of Buffalo was also wounded and later died at ECMC.
Cramer-Williams was located by the Buffalo Police Department, U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and FBI Safe Streets Task Force at a home on West Utica Street on April 14. Prosecutors say he jumped out of a window and onto a garage roof in attempt to evade arrest. They add he threw a black bag on Brayton Street while running from police and refused numerous commands to stop and fought with officers while being placed under arrest. Cramer-Williams was subsequently tased by a Buffalo Police officer and taken into custody. Investigators say they recovered the bag and found an operable, illegal pistol inside.
Cramer-Williams is scheduled to return on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 at 2 p.m. ET for a pre-trial conference. Cramer-Williams, who also has pending criminal charges in Niagara County, was remanded without bail.
If convicted of the highest charge, Cramer-Williams faces a maximum of 25 years-to-life in prison.
