Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Mayor Scanlon today says Buffalo's outdoor pools will officially open for the season on Tuesday. City pools will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to provide residents and families a safe and fun way to cool off during the summer months.

"I am proud to welcome the return of another outdoor pool season in the City of Buffalo," says Scanlon. "Our pools offer a great place for families, friends, and neighbors to stay active, beat the heat, and enjoy the summer right here in our community. Thanks to my administration's extensive outreach efforts to recruit lifeguards, I'm pleased to share that the city is fully staffed and ready to safely welcome swimmers to our pools this season."

The city's outdoor pool locations include:
Centennial Pool (Foot of Porter Avenue)
JFK Pool (114 Hickory Street)
Riverside Pool (2607 Niagara Street)
Kensington Pool (369 Kensington Avenue)
Houghton Pool (1720 Clinton Street - Houghton Park)

Maintenance days are posted at each pool location and on the city's web site www.buffalony.gov to keep residents informed.

Additionally, the two indoor pools, the Cazenovia- Connors, Kait, Harrity Memorial Pool and Lovejoy pool are open for free lap swimming year-round Monday through Friday as posted.

The city's outdoor pool locations will be open through Labor Day.
