Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police Department announced on Tuesday the arrest of a parent for an assault that occurred on a school bus last week.
Police say last Wednesday afternoon, a school bus driver stopped her bus at Cumberland Avenue and Salem Street because a student had unbuckled their seat belt and stood up, making her feel it was unsafe to continue driving.
While the bus was stopped, police say a parent that had been tracking the bus got after a child opened the rear emergency door. The male parent removed several children from the bus, placing them in the street with no supervision.
As the bus driver repeatedly told the parent he was not allowed on the bus, police say the man charged down the aisle, shoving the 72-year-old bus driver, causing injuries to her neck, back, and shoulder.
Jamieson Lococo, 38, of Buffalo has been charged with assault, reckless endangerment and reckless endangerment of a child.
