Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Following a traffic nightmare for many concertgoers last weekend at Buffalo's Outer Harbor, Buffalo Police has issued new guidance measures for patrons taking in a concert or event along the Outer Harbor.
LISTEN LIVE TO WBEN:
First, police are advising any patrons getting picked up after concerts or events - ride sharing or a private car - should request to meet their drivers on Ohio Street just East of Route 5.
Ohio Street is accessible from Louisiana Street and the Eastbound section of Route 5. There is also easy access to the I-190 and city streets from there.
In addition, the City of Buffalo will be posting signage for designated ride sharing areas along Ohio Street going forward.
Police also advise those who may be driving to the Outer Harbor for events or concerts to use the free parking lots near the venue.
This new guidance comes with another large concert expected this Saturday night, as the Outer Harbor Concert Series will feature the band Arkells at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Outer Harbor concerts are capped at 5,000 tickets.
